Default New Dad / New Photographer

I took this picture of my new daugher looking out a window and would like to refine it and ultimately order a print. It's the photo I'm most proud of at this point. I wanted to submit here for critique on how to refine this as much as possible before ordering. The only thing that is obvious to me is fixing the scratch on the left hand side of the window (advice on how to do that?) Any other suggestions are welcome to my untrained eye. Thanks

Congratulations! And welcome to DPS!

That is a really interesting shot. I'm not normally one to find baby pictures all that compelling but this one holds my interest. There are a few technical imperfections - it would've been nice if the tops of the buildings were visible and the baby's bed is a little tight on the left and right. But you have every reason to be proud of this shot. Refining and fixing the scratch could be done in Photoshop. Hopefully one of the Photoshop gurus can give you some concrete suggestions.

(You may want to rotate and reload your photo. It's a little uncormfortable to carefully examine photo with your head tilted over.)

I think most image editors have some type of scratch removal function. It is more, or less a variation of the clone function. I've never had much luck trying to use it though. It might be better to just have another baby and ask for a better window. lol

I love this. To me it says "look out big world, here I come!" Sometimes the emotion of a photo outweighs any little technical issue. Beautiful!

Default Love it

As a country bumpkin, this shot makes me want to move to the big city and have another kid. I think having kids (I have 5) and living in a very rural part of the country, makes this so much more compelling.

I just used the clone tool in Photoshop. Took me a few minutes but this picture is worth it

Thank you all for the comments (and for telling me how to fix the scratch). Very encouraging for a newbie
