Default Does this work?

Does the way I have done the lighting work, or does it look like he was pasted on this background? This is a location shoot and he was in that scene, I hit him with two strobes to knock down the sun, but it almost has a "fake" appearance about it, but maybe I am being overly critical.

Its a great picture i had the same problem recently. answer to your question yes it looks like he was posted on the background.

Now that being said who cares? you know it was a location shoot and so does the client/model so no worries

Maybe for the future lower the strength on your flashes so you can see the sun natural back lighting.

just my 2 cents again good picture

I think part of the reason why he looks "pasted" on is because of his pose. Right now he is flat on facing the camera. There is no depth to his pose which makes it look like he was pasted on. If he stood at an angle or at a slight profile there would be some depth and he would be more connected with the background.

I agree with Sabrina.
I would add that if the grass behind him was lit as well, it would help the "paste" feeling.
try lightening the background a bit, I think that will help.
