Default Angel feet

IMG_2960

My name is Eddie Shomate and my wife and I are aspiring photographers based in Raleigh NC. The shot above is of my 7 week old son's feet in front of a window. It was taken with a Rebel xsi and 50mm 1.2 lens. I think this photo has a very angelic feel to it.

My main question is: Is there anything I could have done differently to make this shot better? Composition, lighting, overexposed, etc.?

Also, I would certainly appreciate it if fellow photographers would connect with me on facebook, twitter, flickr, and my website. Thanks guys!

I would crop out most of the right side, that way the feet are not dead center in the photo. Other than that I really like the look/feel of the picture.

First the picture is very cute fun ideas.

Second i agree with the poster above maybe some cropping to really fill the frame and really show off those feet. But this is a suggestion not a must

Third. I think it looks way overexposed, not to say thats a bad thing if thats what you were going for but if not maybe you can save the image if you shot in raw and bring back some detail and maybe even do it in black and white?

Any who great shot thats my 2 cents lol keep up the good work.

ok, my first impression was that it's overexposed. but to be honest? that's not a bad thing. I love this photo and I wouldn't crop it in any direction. filling the frame with the feet would make it a boring photo in my opinion since you'll be losing the colors at the top and the leg.
what I would do is to dodge that piece of blanket on the right to make it lighter and less noticeable.
great shot!

Lovely shot. I am just going to agree with most of the posts above as they were my first impressions anyway. A little cropping to take the feet off centre would strengthen the image. I also think it looks overexposed and realise this may be the look you were going for, which is fine but I could do with being dialled but just a notch.
With a new baby you will have no end of subject material to practice your photography!
