Default Jump around

Had a new backdrop and my little girl wanted to make some pictures of her.
What do you think of the lighting? Is the white balance oke?



Exif:
Camera Nikon D40
Exposure 0.002 sec (1/500)
Aperture f/4.0
Focal Length 35 mm
ISO Speed 200
Exposure Bias 0 EV

Lighting setup:
SB-26 camera left high with shoot through umbrella @ 1/8 power.
SB-26 above backdrop faced down (flagged) @ 1/32 power.
LP160 camera left low with shoot through umbrella @ 1/16 power.
White reflector (82cm) camera right.
Black backdrop with black cotton sheet.

Her face isn't evenly lit: The left side of her face has light shadows, and the right side is unaturally white, so you've got this light and dark contrast going on in the subjects face. I like the composition and the happiness this image exudes.

Also be careful with clothes that match the background. They can start to blend.

I really like the light on top of her head. But I would warm up the skin tones just a touch. Nice capture!

The white balance was set to automatic, but it was shot in RAW so I've adjusted it a bit warmer....

Most studio lights are calibrated for 5,600 kelvin white balance (that's daylight) so if you set your white balance to that figure, then you got it right, you'd probably want to set it a bit higher like 5,800 kelvin to get a warmer tone for lighter skin
