Default My baby boy (Black and white)

Whats the best way to get black and white? Originally the shot was a little overexposed so i adjusted the levels and added a vignette because the top right corner was a little blown out. I added the black and white through photoshop through an adjustment layer. Then I bumped up contrast, blacks and brightness in lightroom. Finally I cooled it down a bit because it was a little warm. Please tell me what you think? I usually only: image>adjust>desaturate> in photoshop...lol. Also how is the composition? This is a candid shot of my son at playtime. (He has all the toys he could ask for, but always goes for my phone...)

Hi,
Cute baby!....There are several ways to convert to B&W, and I've posted a link below that shows most of them. For me, the best B&W conversion is Nik Software Silver Efex Pro. If B&W's your thing and you want control point accuracy then I don't think you can beat it. As for your composition, I'd have cropped the right side. Personally I like the high contrast although the vignette is a little over-powering. Maybe a little too dramatic for a baby shot.

Also, are his eyes in focus? Do you think his eyes are sharp enough?
