Default Just getting started...

This is one of my first portraits that I've taken. It's also one of my favorites... it came from a kind of impromptu shoot so it was taken with only natural light. Would using my on-camera flash have helped fill in her face more, or is the face lit well enough? Is the sun coming through the trees behind her distracting? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Model: Canon EOS REBEL T2i
ISO: 100
Exposure: 1/80 sec
Aperture: 2.0
Focal Length: 50mm
Flash Used: No

I like it composition, pose, background-wise, but she's under exposed. yes, even a little flash would have helped. nicely put together though... love the bokeh and light, love the tendrils of hair, alove her mbiguous expression...

Agreed regarding composition, pose, background and underexposure...but I'd have used a reflector and spot-metered rather than use fill flash. A reflector held a bit high and to an angle of her would have given lovely light on her face and in her eyes.

There's also a color cast/white balance issue, she's VERY greenish-yellow.

For a first portrait thought, this is a really nice attempt.

LOL! Yeah, that's doable of course. I just prefer natural light outdoors (and not everyone's got strobes).
