Default Opinions please & thank you

I am trying to figure out what can make my portrait shots better. I am still learning all the neat things that my camera can do, including manual focus and all that.
Thanks for the time and info Photobucket

just my two cent.........composition is off--shots like these look great if you can get directly above them (stand on a ladder or something) and shoot for just their heads in the frame on top of all the leaves...i don't really like the leaves on their bodies....think just all under their heads on the ground would look better. also by moving the camera directly above you will get a more flattering shot and hopefully nice catchlights from the reflection of looking "up" at the sky...

hope this helps...just keep playing...

I agree with the composition... now that you say it as for the leaves on the body.. they had been having a leaf fight with her younger siblings and had just thrown back to laugh and catch their breath thank you for the tips!

honestly i like the leaves on them.. the bright blue shirt is distracting and the leaves help tone it down

life in motion hit on the head... being above them wouldve helped sooo much.

also, i think that the person in the front just looks too flat, probably mostly the angle, but the girl in the back, who is stunning, looks just right

also, in critique, please provide exif

I think the leaves are fine just the poses are akward. The lady in blues right arm doesn't look comfortable resting on the other ones shoulder and the other ladys face is right up in her armpit! If she had her left arm up and you took the shot on a ladder the shot would be a lot better.

looks like a fun moment! I agree with others above about the composition...the arm in the middle looks pretty uncomfortable, and the leaves on the shirt bother me. Maybe play with the angle to emphasize the faces. keep shooting!

I agree with the other comments and would add that there seems to be no focal point. Do you want to emphasize the faces?
