Default On the decks

Hi,

First time poster, hopefully of many!

Want to get the opinion of the pic I took at my mates 30th. He's a DJ and decided to jump on the decks for a while.
The place was very smokey (stupid machines) and dark, so a little touching up of the levels in Photoshop, sharpening and cropping the image got me to here.
I'd like to not have had the flash on the mirror in the background, and there to be a little bit more depth of field, but this was my first real 'event' to take photos at.

Used a Nikon D60 with the standard/bundled 18-55mm lens
Auto Exposure
Shutter speed - 1/60 (0.01sec isn't it?)
18mm
f/3.5

I guess I'm looking to know 3 things:

1) If the image has been sharpened too much (or not enough, I can never tell)
2) If it's too washed out
3) If there is anything that could stand to be removed or tweaked to improve the overall image

I've included as much EXIF Info as I could remember and Photoshop would tell me.

I think this is a cool picture. His expression and clothing match the setting well.
It looks to me like it might have been over sharpened, but I don't really know either.

I'm guessing the flash you used was a pop up flash, which really flattens the image. I stopped using the pop up flash a while ago because of this, and used only available light. But recently there was a video posted here about using longer shutter speeds with flash. I tried it out, and it's really awesome. That might have worked really well in this situation.

I think the composition is pretty good. It seems there is a circle formed for the eyes to travel from his face, down his body and arms to the computer, and then over the electronic stuff and up the pole back to his head. Or maybe I am just over-analyzing it.

I'm certainly no expert, but these are my opinions. Let's hope someone who knows what they are talking about posts here after me. They can prove me wrong, it wouldn't be the first time.
