Hi all,
Thought I would post a shot of a self portrait I did. Any comments on lighting would be helpful. But any general comments are welcome as well. I have a sb600 on camera pointed at the ceiling with a white frost filter on. I have an umbrella camera left and a big window on a clody day camera right. ![]() EXIF: Camera Nikon D40 Exposure 0.004 sec (1/250) Aperture f/5.0 Focal Length 35 mm ISO Speed 200 Also as a side, I do have the D300S but cannot find a source that isn't $$$ as a remote shutter release. Any ideas for those that have this camera? Thanks!

Thank you both.
Have gone back in and did some touch ups. Will have to keep that in mind for the future. I agree about the crop. It just so happened that it was cropped like this in camera and I wasn't fond of the portrait style for this shoot. But agree - if doing a client they might like to see their WHOLE head!

As for remotes, I use the ML-30 on my D300. Its only about 3 ft long, cost arouond $50, and there is an extension available to double the length. I use the interval timer function for self portraits and untended shooting, works well once I get the framing set up. The manual explains how to use it.
