jennyr, Welcome

If you need more information to help post your photo in place of a link, here's most of what you'll need (FAQ), plus the suggestion that you ask a specific question (Rules).

Are you the marshmallow tester?

jennyr,

Your friend will thank you if you take a portrait shot earlier or later in the day. Midday gives those overly-bright highlights and deep undereye shadows, and keeps eye detail from being clear and sharp (very important in face images). Centering can work sometimes; moving subject left or right will often improve composition and interest.

I think centering works fine in this pic, both sides should be equal tho, in this case it isnt since theres someone at the back, remember to take many shots next time just to be sure, in general, its a nice pic, and I love roasted marshmallows! mmmmm :9

Thumbs up

Aside from the distraction in the background on the right (persons head), i think your lighting is soft and beautiful. It may not be textbook perfect, but rarely do i find that my technically correct photos are my best. (this is simply my opinion).

I love your subjects expression, and the marshmallow adds interest and a story to the subject.

I think its a beautiful photo, well done.
