Default Sunkissed Dreamer

This is a shot of my daughter I took today. I was trying to get a back lit sun shot. I had a silver reflector to bounce light back onto her face. It was early evening around 5:30 I think. I'd like to get some feedback on the color tones and whether or not the photo is effective. I did a little processing in photoshop to boost the contrast and adjust the exposure a tad.

Sunshine Dreams

Camera Nikon D300
Exposure 0.001 sec (1/750)
Aperture f/3.3
Focal Length 50 mm
ISO Speed 200

Thanks in advance for your input!

It's a little desaturated and the reflector might have been too harsh, but I warmed it with a photo filter and adjusted the saturation and luminosity in photoshop. This is what I'd do with it...

I think a white reflector would have been a better choice. the silver reflector bounced a very strong light right into her face which cause people to squint. you didn't need that much light there and her face is lit like a flash shot.
something tells me she has beautiful eyes hidden under her eyelids

Thanks for your input Mr. Jones and others. I wondered if I was overdoing it with the silver reflector. I think I'll try shooting again this weekend and I'll use the white reflector instead. I'm trying to get a dreamy soft effect like I've seen in some other backlit photos. Practice, practice, practice!! Hopefully my model with be willing to work with me again!

Yeah I would try a white reflector instead and warm the image up a bit but beyond that it looks great love the look she is giving.

I haven't used reflectors yet and don't know much about them but would a gold reflector have given a shot like this the warm look w/o having to do it in PP??

a gold reflector gives the light of a sunset, with an orange hue.
while at first you would love it, it gets boring after a few shots and that it's hard getting that orange color of the picture
I would stick with a white reflector for most scenarios.
just so you'll get the feeling, this was taken with a gold reflector placed above the model, facing down (something like a street light above her head).

I use the white reflector almost 90% of the time. It would also help to bounce it from your right side so that it looks like two light sources.
