Default Headshot

Thanks for taking the time to critique my shot. I took several head shots in RAW for a lovely young lady for a local pageant. Usually when editing I like to have the pictures looking artistic and don't worry to much about them looking "unedited". So my question is does her skin color look natural, also is it too bright? I like that look, I think it is flattering, but is it too much? Thanks again for your input.

i wouldn't have said you did any post work on her skin if you hadn't said you did. I guess that means it looks pretty natural to me.
nice image.

I think it was done very well.

Not sure about the fingers/ cutoff hand though.

Nice shot. I agree with sk66 though, the cut off is awkward.

I agree with the people above. It is awkward. I would either have no hand there at all, or at least zoom out a bit and get most of her hand.

Overall great shot! A very lovely young women indeed.

Agree about the crop. I would also try to avoid posing someone between two trees, it detracts from the main subject and gives a tight/boxed in appearance.

When doing a headshot like this that is going to be used for your purpose I would try to do it in portrait instead of landscape. If it's a fun photo or for personal use - landscape is fine. But I use to work in the acting field (not as an actor) and came across alot of head shots. Mostly in portrait style. JMO!

Otherwise I think it's very and the pp work is not noticable.
