Default do you like the b&w tones in this pic?

overall, i'm happy with the feeling this picture evokes. but i'm not so sure about the b&w. should i have more/less contrast, used a different filter, etc? it kind of bugs me that his pants are pretty much crushed. if it matters, i'm using aperture 3 to do all my post processing.

Camera: Nikon D90
Exposure: 1/80
Aperture: f/8.0
Focal Length: 18 mm
ISO Speed: 400


EDIT: here's a revision after reading the below suggestions. it's a little brighter, but it still feels ... flat?

I'm seeing a lot of the same mid-tones and not a lot of detail in the shadows and highlights in this shot. Try playing with some fill light in post to see if you can get some tonal detail back into the couple, especially his pants. Hope this helps.

I agree with highlydope, overall the photo looks too dark, a bit underexposed. Bring up the exposure or the brightness a bit.

ahhh. mid-tones ... never really thought about that ... good thing to keep an eye for. should help the pic have a little more "pop". thx all!
