Default mud fight gone flat?

021_edited-4

canon rebel xs
exposure 1/125
manual mode
f stop f/5.60
ISO 100
no flash

Took this of my daughter during a spontaneous mud fight that erupted. The focus is not great. I think the composition is good. Wondering if it portrays the deviousness that is my daughter? The original had some overexposed areas. I tried fix these areas and sharpen it but maybe made the picture worse? Anyways would love any and all critique. Thanx for looking!

Default great shot

I really like this shot. She is looking at something out of frame and you have given the picture space for her to look into. How much of the picure did you crop out? Can you get more space where she is looking into?

Ahhh.. to be that age and only have the fun of the mud and not the clean up! My only opinion is that this will be a great photo to bring out when your daughter is all grown up

I like her expression, and how she looks like a frog on her pond. Considering the light and the composition, I'd say it is a very well done picture for a moment that probably didn't last very long.
