Default How Should I Crop This?

I like this picture, but not the teeter-totter bars on the bottom left. Would it be better to crop it tighter? Is it worth trying to salvage?

Thanks,
Bev

I feel like maybe a vertical crop would work well. But if you wanted to get rid of the bar on the bottom then maybe that's not the best bet. It's definitely worth salvaging though; very lovely shot!

Hope you don't mind that I took the liberty to try a tighter crop. This was as far as I could go without actually starting to clone out the teter totter which would look odd.

Default Don't crop it

You don't need to crop the picture. The bar in the picture is just perfect. His fave seems a little overexposed? Can you fix that?

Thanks for all of your comments. I like the tighter crop you did, JohnT, but what do you do to print it? I typically crop in a 4x6 proportion....should I get out of that habit?

I did a 5x7 crop and took as much off the right side as i could. I liked JohnT's close crop, but it was a little too confusing for me with the leading space behind him to the right, but he is looking to the left. My eyes seemed to wander.

You could possibly experiment with a slight PP vignette to keep the focus off the distracting elements in the back, but not everyone likes that style.

Wow. I know this is an older post, but I thought this was an amazing transformation. And to think you considered giving up on this image? I think this is a great shot.
