Default Texas Hill Country Family Portrait

Fellow DPS Photogaphers,

What do you like about this shot and more importantly what don't you like. The image was shot in Raw with Vivid in my Nikon. I removed the blemishes, cropped it, sharpened it, and added noise reduction. I don't like our hand placements and I wish my daughter smiled, other than that I like the picture.

Please give me honesty.

the hands are the hardest... many a books i read, there could/is chapters just on hands...

overall though.. the lighting seems a bit drab. i would boost it up a bit...

youve done good compositionally speaking

ive come to find that for portrait work, shooting in vivid gives a little too much saturation than just setting that to portrait for that... but, sometimes i will switch depending on the mood.. its a pain going through the menus, but a few extra minutes doing that could save a little editing time
