Default B&W contrast

OK, y'all know that I have been experimenting with some B&W conversions, so I pulled out this one, played with it and was wondering about the contrast? Also any other C&C welcome!

Exposure 0.025 sec (1/40)
Aperture f/5.6
Focal Length 55 mm
ISO Speed 200
Exposure Bias 0 EV
Flash No Flash

Thanks!!

i love the composition here.......and i think if you would use a paintbrush with black on overlay on the lowest opacity over the eye lashes and lips it would really pop....

ETA: couldn't resist to see the subtle difference.....although i still like the softness of the original too but i like the subtle pop of darker blacks to highlight those pouty lips and long eyelashes....

edit with blacks blacker(wanted to put them side by side because couldn't tell much difference scrolling down...it's just a subtle difference...)

well.......bw is something that has taken me a while to wrap my head around. learning to see if it is flat is the biggest difference i think. train your eyes to notice the difference in flat and good contrast by watching a lot of people do conversions. then experiment and just follow the critique section and pay attention to what people say they do for black and white conversions and then practice getting the same results on the pictures they edit....this will teach you faster than anything. look for similar tabs, filters, brushes, settings on photoshop because while it may not be exactly the same steps to every editing program the idea is the same with them all.

i say try your best bw image conversion post it in critique and start the learning process
