Default Engagement Pics

Any help would be appreciated! I took this pic several weeks ago for my cousin for his engagement pic. Is the brightness in the shirts to bright?

the shirt does seem a bit blown out. but that's not what bothers me about the photo.
it's the angle. it just feels like a parent taking a photo of his kid without getting to his eye level.
I think it would have been a lot better if you were lower, at their eye level.

Yeah, the shirts are definitely blown out. The lighting conditions you shot in weren't ideal - the sun was really harsh at the time.

Finding open shade rather than shooting in direct sun gives much more flattering light; so does shooting either around sunrise or an hour before sunset. The sun is much lower in the sky and the light isn't nearly as harsh.

Their skin tones look off to me as well - they look on the red/orange side.

Hope this helps.

I agree with both above...
and i wouldve loved to seen the exif data, as included in the forum rules...
but since no exif..

as stated, agree with above and also... your white balance is off too... probably having set to auto on this one?

also, compositionally... shes centered, and its almost like you told him... hurry the shutters gonna release get in the pic... for an engagment pics i dont feel any emotion here, nor is there anything regarding the ring.... two important things for engagment sessions.
