Default Friendly Warrior

Went out today to my first airshow in a long, long while. Fun day, trickier than I expected photography wise. This gentleman is the pilot of the Boeing Stearman biplane you can see behind him. Most of the people I take pictures of are on a dimly lit stage, so this was sort of new to me. Looking for any opinions, advice, etc. There are a couple of areas in the picture I don't like. I'm going to remove the pair of feet and shadow under the aircraft, but I really wish I'd asked him to move over a few feet to block the camera's view of the kid going to the bathroom... Is there any way to remove him? I looked at it, but the open door as well as the struts of the aircraft will make it difficult, I suspect. I realize that I could crop, but I prefer to have the tail of the plane in the shot if possible. I took a portrait version as well, but the kid is still there. At least the bathroom door isn't open in that one. Also wondering if the colors are too bright? Thanks.

A quick and dirty clone stamp edit in Photoshop resulted in this:

From DPS

Took me about 10 minutes of work and I also didn't bother too much about some strut wires, but a little more careful work and I am sure it can be improved upon. Nothing like getting right in camera, hey? Let me know if you want the edited image removed.

The colours looked OK to me, but the washed out sky is a bit distracting.

I really need to train myself to look for stupid **** like that before I shoot. I have a habit of watching only my subject, and then I look at the picture later and go 'why did I do that?' I'm impressed... I'm gonna need to go back and see what I can do with it now. No need to remove your edit unless you want to. Thanks.
