This is my first picture to be posted and, likely as not, if my wife saw this she'd kill me.
![]() ![]() At the Pier by lvxandar, on Flickr I'm starting to get into the whole photography thing, so am curious to get feedback. This is a straight off camera shot with zero photoshopping. It was uploaded through Picnik, but I don't think any changes were made... It's also from a P&S since I don't have a DSLR ... yet. Maybe eventually ![]() Camera Panasonic DMC-LC43 Exposure 0.006 sec (1/160) Aperture f/4.3 Focal Length 13.1 mm ISO Speed 50 Edited as requested: The main things I'm trying to learn from the picture is lighting, positioning and distance. SuperDan critiqued on some of those, so that's great. I'm still trying to learn how light from various distances makes a difference and what angles I should take pictures at. I think that's the only rule that I neglected to respond to...if not, I'll go read again! Maybe I'm just tired..

Congrats on your first post... always the toughest one.. i think...
but, please read the rules and repost or edit as to what you want. heres my critique though.... first of all ... its been said before ... the camera doesnt make the pic.. p/s or dslr... you can make a good picture with either. okay, but as well.. you are way too close and she is blown out by the sunlight and her squinting ruins her expression for me... sorry to be so critical on your first, its friendly...

Thanks, SuperDan. I appreciate it. I edited the specifics on the critique a bit. I think that's the main section I missed in the rules?
Regarding the distance, what would solve it if I'm still trying to get a close up similar to that? I could have pulled back and taken a shot that included more of her torso, I suppose but other than that? I agree with the sunlight. This is something I'm definitely still trying to get a grasp on and figure out. - P |
