Default No hands?

I took this shot for a friend of mine....unfortunately, I cut his hands off. How big of an issue do you think that is? Any other problems with this shot? Anything done well? all feedback is appreciated.

Honestly, the hands don't bother me so much as his face. Haha, I'm not saying anything about his face, just his 'pose'.. either he's posing too hard trying to look casual and uninterested, or he's really trying to avoid having his photo taken.

A nice simple look to the camera would have made this much better, and then I might care about the hands. Which, in the end, does make the image feel a bit choppy.
Good use of fill flash for a night portrait though.

I would have to agree with BF the subject though trying to play casual just isnt pulling it off. What I learned at a workshop recently is the photographer must be in charge of making that subject come out of their box, take multiple shots to warm them up, engage, interact, show them physically what you need to make the shot work...after all they will become a product of your work and portfolio if that be the case....oh and remember this rule...NO POSING...lol..jk.....though it seems so much more natural and refreshing to shoot subjects just being real and in the moment, but to each his own that was just my POV Overall I Love the warmth in this evening shot
