I'm starting to experiement with changing the focus from the centre point to other points and also trying to balance natural light with fill flash.

I spent yesterday chasing my nephew around the garden and wondered what you thought of this, as it is one of the more edgy compositions.

Be grateful for any tips, tricks or comments please.

I usually like angled photos but here something just don't work, something is bothering my eye and I think it's because you chose a perfect angle of 45 degrees

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.

I didn't realise a 45 degree angle was bad?!

I have plenty of more traditional compositions, I just wanted to do something a bit different...

just to be clear, I'm not saying it's bad.
just, for me, in this photo - it doesn't feel right.

Yeah I probably worded that wrong... I meant I didn't realise there were particular angles that didn't work so well.

Is this shot any better?

I like them both...He's a cutie pie. You have that "POP" that I'm striving to get in my photos.... I love taking pictures at the off angle too... I like the idea of the top one, but I think it's just a bit too off angle... I would try to straighten it just a few degrees, and see how that is...

Just a side question... for the fill flash are you using your on camera flash or do you have an external one?

I have got 2 off camera flash guns, but the camera flash was working pretty well, and it was easier to chase him round the garden with it!

Thanks for your thoughts, I will have a play around with it. Cheers
