Default Fun Slide

Just wanted to get some thoughts if I could do anything to make this shot better. I kind of like the composition overall.

So I like the picture in general. But I think that the boy is washed out, or lost in between the colors of the slide and the sky. The light is too bright and he gets a little lost in the picture. Great picture overall.

I actually like the feel of this shot, and I think the high contrast and color of the sky helps make the mood. If anything, I would have waited for the kid on the right to get out of the frame. Otherwise, I dig the square frame and the retro-style look. It definitely has a sense of time and place.

what kind of look are you going for here? my first reaction was that the image is ironic and a bit funny. With the retro colors, lack of color on the kid, and the expression on the kid's face, he doesn't seem to be having very much fun on the "FUN SLIDE"... I agree w/danbaileyphoto--too bad about the feet on the right, and the guy's head on bottom left. Overall i like it!

I would like to see this shot with the left side of the pic cropped out removing the three posts. Crop it just about to the Fun Slide post.

I like it. Can't always wait for the other kid to move, cause your model might go with him! My eye went to the kid first, as he's brightest, and the posts on the left drew the eye up to the fun slide. Agree it is ironic and love the tones!

Thanks for all the comments that helps a lot. The main reason I liked the image was the irony between the sign and the expression on my sons face. it looks like he is not completely sold on the "fun" of the fun slide. I tried to process it to give it a more metro feel also. Figured it was more appropriate considering the subject.

I tried that and did not like it. I felt the post help take you eye up to the main subject. Also I like the square aspect of the photo better. Didn't want to loose that.

I agree that is is a bummer about having the ride attendants feet in the shot I could probably try and crop them out, but I don't think its that much of a distraction. Same with the person going up the steps to the ride.

Thanks again for all the feedback.
