I took this picture and it came out looking different than I thought it would. I am not sure what to think of it. The focused object is the woman, but the window takes up most of the picture. Is this a bad thing???

No, that's not always a bad thing. It lets the viewer see what she's looking at. It could use just a little more crop to put her in the 'rule of thirds' but, overall, it's not bad.

In my humble opinion the problem is the window is so much lighter than the woman and so it draws attention away from her. If you boost the contrast you will probably get things even worse. Try to work on the curves instead, taking the window out of the modifications with a selection, if you find it appropriate.
