Default Belting it out

I took this one during an arts festival we had yesterday. In PP, I moved the frame to put her right at the left edge of the shot, looking in towards the center. I also went with the very close, square crop because there is about 1/3 of a sax player immediately to her right. It might not have been my first choice if I'd had a little bit more room to remove him... I'm wondering whether the crop works, and also whether her skin tone is too bright... Photoshop seems to think so, but I left it as is because it was a very bright, sunny day (then anyway... 2 hours later me and a couple of friends, one of whom is the sound guy, were scrambling to get speakers under cover before they were ruined. I think we mostly succeeded :-), and to me this most resembles what she really looked like on the stage.

I like the shot. However, looking at your EXIF, I'm curious as to why you used an ISO of 400 if it was bright and sunny? You want to lower your ISO on bright days such as this. Higher ISO's are generally used for low light conditions.

Also, the comp seems a bit crooked to me. In photoshop, you can copy the layer, rotate it and then flatten and crop.

Other than that, pretty good shot.

To be honest, I was shooting the evening before and I think the ISO was the one setting I forgot to change back... I'll try to rotate it a little and see what happens. I'm guessing that you're looking at the edge of the keyboard? Thanks for the comments.

Actually, I was looking at the brick wall behind your subject.

Does this edit look any better? I see what you mean now about the composition being crooked. I tried to straighten according to the mortar lines in the wall, but the perspective does something funky with them as they goes above her shoulder. I also did a slightly different color correction, a little more natural I think, she's not glowing so much from the sun. I can't decide which I like better, but the more I look at this version, the more I realize that the colors in her skin aren't as subdued as I thought they were the first time around...
