Hello, This is my first photo with the 135mm lens that I got. I was wondering what you all thought I should do to improve the photo. I think a crop on the left would help it, but I'm not sure.

EXIF data:

Exposure Time = 1/100 sec [0.010]
F Number = 2
ISO Speed Ratings = 1600
Aperture Value = 2
Exposure Bias Value = -1
Metering mode = Pattern
Flash = Flash did not fire
Focal Length = 135 mm
Exposure Mode = Automatic exposure
White Balance = Automatic white balance
Scene Capture Type = Standard

You appear to have given us all the pertinent information about your image without the image itself.

I think you missed a composition rule there. you've got the "model" looking to the right and you have a big space to his left.
now I'm wondering what's on the right side and what has his attention.
when taking portrait photos, try and get the the space to where his eyes are looking. meaning if his looking right - the space should be to his right.

I think you are right. He was laughing, and I caught a series of 5 photos of his laugh. Another one is this one, but it's not near as sharp. Not exactly a model in my mind, because I didn't have him "pose" or "stage" the action. We were actually out having fun together, and he wasn't watching me take these (he actually doesn't care). I guess you would still call him a model though if he was my subject? Not exactly sure so that's why I'm asking.

I'm going to be honest, I'm not sure what to do about the composition issue on the one and/or the lack of sharpness on this one.

Have a look
