Nice effort with the focus on the eyes!

Howdy.

The background distracts me too much; As soon as I flick the the photo, my eyes dart across to the brown grass on the left of the frame, then back into your model's eyes.. in to the eyes is good, but then back to the dry grass... and so on..

The hair / blowaways across her eyes distract me when I'm looking at her, maybe just brush those out of her eyes before you shoot, or, if you're going for that hair in the face look, use a little more so people know that's what you're after - of course, if this is what you're after, no worries - but I find it distracting.

You have pushed the contrast on this one? I'm seeing artefacts on edges (around her t-shirt neck) and the grass is looking a touch odd, green-wise perhaps?

I think your girl is sat in the right spot for a simple portrait, the photo doesn't look that cramped, though I might have given her a little more space around the edges of the frame...

It's a little hot on the arm, but it doesn't look blown out, or to the point where it bothers me...

Would you post your exif? That would help.

Don't take this as a hammering, and if you would like me to explain my thinking of any of my points - just say :-)

Never paid attention to the brown grass... haha guess I was just trying to crop her without looking odd.

We were at the beach and it was VERY windy, but personally I like it. guess it's not for everyone.

What are artefacts on edges??? Yes I increased the saturation (not sure exactly what I did).

here are my settings
shutter 1/125
aperture f1.8
exp +.7
focal length 35mm

Thanks for the input!!! I really want to be better so constructive criticism is always helpful!!
