Default My first teenage model

Well I branched out from babies to teens! LOL! I wanted to get opinions on this photo... is it overly edited? is the color good? how does this pose and cropping work? What would make this a better photo? I did took her out purely for learning so that I might can get into the senior market this year. Thanks in advance for all the C&C!

I like the composition, Allison! But yeah, it's over-edited. Can you post a SOOC?

I like it. I like the color of the face. Photography does not need to be all about keeping things true to life. Photography is a form of art and expression.

I also like the composition.

As I have learnt on this site...not everyone is going to like your work. So: if you like it and your client likes it, then it's a JOB DONE WELL!!!

Darn!... so I just burned my pics to CD's night before last and guess I didn't do the originals for this session. I guess I was thinking since it was just practice? But now im kicking myself!

Thanks for your in put.. that's what I was thinking about the detail. She is all into the twilight series, so she loved it like this. LOL BUT for regular senior portraits I was wondering if it was too much. Thanks!

Thank you for your comments! You are right that as long as she is happy that is what matters! I am happy with it, but after processing it, then coming back and looking at it later it looked over done to me. BUT like I said to the PP, she loved it because she likes the eclipse movies. LOL Thanks!

** I am kicking myself because I find the original! I really wanted to see what it would have looked like being able to take some suggestions from here. Live and learn I guess.

I think this *might* be the SOOC... I had one saved as a .psd instead of jpeg... So I opened it and deleted all the layers except the locked bottom one. I knew I was going to need something and not be able to find it as soon as I deleted all of them! LOL!

I too like the look of the first one..... after the processing, the original is a bit bland. I can see why she likes it..if she is into all things vampire..

the first one is better, no doubt.
and I agree. people in this forum tend to stay between the lines, keeping everything technically perfect.
I think good photography is all about knowing the rules so you could break them and go beyond.
