Default A Reunion of People (or family)

So I was taking photos of my family at a reunion for basically myself until one of my aunts asked a question I have been looking forward to/ dreading since I got a new camera...

Can I get a copy of that photo?

I just wanted to get a opinion of it before I mail it off.

Is this great grands with baby? What a sweet photo. It appears overly saturated for my tastes. Have you done any processing to this? If so, do you have the SOOC?

As Lori states, the colors appear to be a little pumped up...as far as the shot and passing it on...ITS FAMILY - every image is a treasure and a sweet memory. Pass it on with love!

yeah, it was pretty dark, ( I had my flash set to low from another pic I took from early that day)
I was trying to convey a sense of warmth with the saturated colors

I was thinking about just adjusting the brightness and increasing the saturation just allitte on the SOOC Image but not as much as I did the first time, Is there any other suggestions or edits that I could do that would convey more a Warm family photo instead of a colorful art piece?

Have you tried it as a black & white? I've only ever used picasa for PP & one of my favorite edits in there is called 'warmify'... it evens out skin tones, and gives a nice warmth to a photo....

I agree though they'll LOVE the photo as is, it's a beautiful composition of a great family moment.

I agree that although it definitely conveys the love, the overly bright colours are a tad distracting.

I did a quick play, I will take it down if you want. I use Photoshop CS4 and did the following:
1. Levels preset for lighten shadows
2. Curves preset for medium contrast
3. Curves adjustment to bring down the middle a little
4. Blue photo filter at 37% opacity to help balance the color
4. Crop
5. Light USM sharpen

While it is not exactly like yours (I'm not at master at curves or histograms yet), I can see how it is an improvement over my original edits. I plan to crop it later.
