Default Brothers and door of opportunity

DSCF3173

I did not have much time to set up for this shot and it was taken quite quickly because I did not want to miss the opportunity. I like the almost silhouette look but wonder if they are underexposed. I also think the scenery beyond the door is overexposed. But I love how my sons are standing in the exact pose with a sense of wonder. I like the long shadows on the wooden floor too. Thoughts on how this could have been improved?

I would say, if you think they are underexposed, and the outside is overexposed, exaggerate it. Don't be afraid to completely blow out the outside, and hardly expose the inside at all. Not for every shot, but I think this one could have a lot of drama with very high contrast.

like such:

I spent maybe 45 seconds doing this, so it could be much improved, but it gives you an idea that over and under exposing something isn't always a bad thing.
(I'll delete this if you prefer)
