I like the lighting and the look of the model.

What I don't like is the masking/extracting job of the hair. because of it it's obvious that the image is a composite. The hair in question is too desaturated and different color compared to the rest of the hair.

How would I fix it? I would make a selection of the hair that needs to be fixed and create a Hue/Sat adj layer and adjust the sliders until it matches the rest. And make sure that the hue/sat is set to colorize.

Personally, I don't like her left eye, there is such a shadow that it looks like she doesn't have one. And I agree that the stray hairs are too light. Either make them match the rest of the hair, or clone them out all together.

I think you have some proportion issues with the background, the pattern looks too small compared with the model's head. try enlarging it and bluring it a bit and I think you'll get a nicer look.

The set up is good, but I would like a little more light on the left side (dark side) of her face and on her lips.
At the moment, her finger nails are drawing the most attention where her lips and eyes should.

On my non- color calibrated monitors i see a little too much magenta in the face. Did you convert to sRGB before saving as Jpeg to be displayed on web?

When I responded to your post I wasn't at home but I use a calibrated monitor at home when editing images.

I use to set my colors by using different color correction methods. For example using the the grey eye dropper to set white balance in photoshop. Take a picture of a white or grey card to custom set white balance in camera. Place a grey card near subject and take a pic, then set white balance in photoshop.

Now that my monitor is calibrated I adjust color to my taste for people or animal portraits without using the color correction methods I listed above. Sometimes when you set correct white balance for people their skin color temp is a little too cool for my taste.

There are ways to semi-calibrate monitors without using a hardware calibration device. Search the web for tutorials.

Hope that answers some of your question.
