Default Family Shoot

I liked this first photo but not sure about the focus and lighting. They aren't in focus but I didn't know if it worked? The second I liked the shot but had to lighten. I would love any kind of feedback I can get.

I'm not sure where to get the camera info on the picture taken? ISO, shutter speed, etc.

What software do you use, that will help us tell you where to get the exif.. but often, it's saved in the jpeg file and you can right-click on it and get it there somewhere under properties (I think, correct me folks if I'm wrong).

PS you need to follow the guidelines on size of photos to be attached.

As for the photos. I think, generally, a portrait for me never works if it's out of focus (unless it was your intent, which I doubt here, right?). And to be honest, none of them seem sharp. You appear to be using a very large aperture (small f/number) which, if you're not careful, you'll get a lot of blur. You need to make sure you get the focus right before anything else.

Having said that, I really like the feel of these photos. They feel nice and relaxed and the colors are vibrant yet soft. I like your use of DoF (though, as mentioned, you missed the focus).

So, compositionally, and colors etc... very good but make sure you nail that sharpness, I think it's crucial!

Looks like you learned an important DOF lesson that will always stick with you.

PS if you dont have photoshop or other software to show you the EXIF, you can upload a picture to flickr and click on "more properties" to view your exif.
