Red face Newcomer :)

Hi everyone I'm new to the DPS Forums. I'm an amateur photographer, I've been shooting for about a year and a half with my Canon 50D. Primary lens is my 3.5 28-135. I've recently quit my job and am exploring going back to school to learn the more technical aspects of photography to improve my skills. One day I would like to open my own studio. I like shooting children, and landscapes. I like shooting weddings that are of friends of mine. I enjoy moments between people the most. I haven't gotten a lot of feedback on my shooting and was hoping those in the know would offer their input.

I was recently asked to shoot a wedding of a close friend of mine. This was my first wedding, it was small and informal and outdoors. I had a few problems with lighting as I was going from shooting into the shade to shooting into the sun quickly but was able to fix those in Lightroom. And I had a few focusing problems. I'm attaching one of my favorite pictures from the wedding, but enclosing a Facebook link for the rest of the pictures. I appreciate any and all input. Thank you so much!!

Great to hear you're developing your passions!

Looked through your photos and I like how you pay attention to the details (close ups of hands, rings, etc) It mixes well with the "wider" shots and it's something that's great to see in wedding photography. Gives a more intimate feel.

As far as your photo for critique, I like the close up shot, but not quite sure the pose works for me. I think mainly it's because the bride's hands get lost in the groom's. Maybe this embrace taken from directly above would work better.

That being said, I think shot #85 in your fb album works well and is my favorite.

Good luck with your photography!

any chance of you posting an image here for us to see? It makes it much easier to view your photo on the same page rather than flipping back and forth from one page to another. thanks

This might help you to post your images.
