Hey all,
I shot this at a wedding ceremony last saturday, I love the way I 'caught' him in mid air, but im thinking what can i do to improve this image? the wedding itself is this weekend and I could use all the advice I can get!! Plus the lighting indoors was HORRIBLE, i had a 430 ex II triggered behind them using a poverty wizard, plus you can see one of my softboxes in the back lighting up the stage area. ![]() all advice/comments would be greatly appreciated!!! thanks heres link to the full set: Nazmin & Imran's Mhendi July 2010 - a set on Flickr

I think it needs a crop, it is way to busy for my liking, i didnt know what the subject of the photo was and had to look close to see that he was jumping.
I am not sure this is teh right image for B&W either, it looks liek it could be stunning in vivid colour. I wasnt sure but i got the impression you were going to shoot this again. If you are perhaps getting in lower and closer would help. HTH |

I agree that the picture "feels wrong". I see the left leg hovering in the air but I cannot see the right. If I follow around the body I can see the right leg but only with difficulty since the subject and the person in the background are both wearing white. It just feels that there is not enough contrast there and it makes the picture difficult to look at.

Hi, I have to agree with the others that the right side of the pic is distracting and an unimportant element and could be cropped out. But I also agree that I think the picture would look better in color, and here is why. I think that the large black area at the left side of the picture in the background is very distracting to the focal point of the picture. Your subject is light and grey and white, and the large area of black seems to overpower the subject. I would try this picture in vivid color and see how that plays. Just my opinion.
