Default MoMA- "the critics"

I'd really appreciate your critique and comments on these two shots, taken in Museum of Modern Art in NYC. I'm fairly new to all this, and I tried photographing people that day.So, your thoughts?

shutter : 1/60
aperture: f 4.2
lens : 22mm

I have Olympus Pen E-pl1

Oh and also, do you think person in the background of the second photo(in the right) is too distrackting? Cuz I personally like that she's standing there, in the shadows... it's kinda creepy-ish

I really like the first one. The B&W conversion is good with a deep black, and the grain suits the picture. The composition is very nice as well, with the man off-centre but the line where the wall meets the floor straight through the middle of the shot. It works well.

The second one not so much. I can see what you were trying to do, and it's not a bad shot but I don't think it's quite come out very well. It might have looked better with a longer shutterspeed to blow out the windows and create a more abstract image. And yes, I do think the girl in the background is distracting.

Default cropping

Hi, I really like the grainy look of it, the lighting, everything is very good. My only pet peave is,...and this could be me... But in the pic every part of the man is showing except his feet. And my opinion is that if you are going to show that much of a human being, you should not cut the feet off...I'm sorry I'm not saying this more poetically. But he has no feet...lol. If the original pic does cut the feet off and you have no way of recovering them, I would suggest a crop of the bottom half of the picture, perhaps as far up as the waist to elbow area, so that the image is divided up into thirds and not in half...keep your image ratio in an odd number is what I'm saying. I hope that helps.
