I think it definitely has potential! Some stuff to start with: take out the garden hose, it doesn't really need to be a component in the shot. Also the camera tilt makes the shot interesting especially with the lines of the house behind her, but your low angle makes her legs and feet look big and her head little. Maybe try shooting a little higher and with a little tilt. Hope that helps

I like the idea and the staging, and don't mind the low angle.

The one thing that really jumps out at me is the photoshopping you did around her waist and hip, the cloning work is really really obvious and I'm sure you and her really don't want that. The part on her right (our left) hip is the most obvious as there's a 'halo' from the different color on the wall.

I think this would have looked cool crossprocessed, do you know how to do that?

I also would have liked a bit more space above her head.. so yeah, like srt said, it may have been better to change the angle a bit though higher would have made it a very standard "straight on" shot which I would have bitched to you about had you done it haha. I think moving back a bit would have helped to make her legs a bit more realistic and given a bit more space that I would have liked...

All in all, pretty good shot with pretty bad PS work if I have to be completely honest.

This technique was the first one I ever learned how to use Xprocessing. I left out the last step because I liked my Xpro to be more blue/green than the yellow..

These below two also help how to learn Xpro by using curves... it's the method with the most control I believe.

Alternatively, as said above, if you use LR, you can find lots of pre-sets.. but I've been unable to find one that I really like in LR (though I love LR).

If you have GIMP, you can use Silicosaur PhotoFX . They have a Xpro script, and a couple of film simulation scripts.

thanks for the feedback guys! i had not heard of cross processing, but it seems to give an effect very similar to split toning - which i am a big fan of. i thought i may have gone a little wild on her right hip as well, so i backed up on the cloning a little and i think it looks more natural. i like this version of the picture so much better. thanks again!

yeah, looks much better to me and the PP work isn't as noticeable now, well done.
