Default First time posting here

See me within, feel as I feel

This is the first time I put a photo here to have people comment on. What does this shot tell you?

Processed through Photoshop CS4

Though there's nothing wrong with this in my view, there's also nothing terribly exciting either.

It tells me that someone is just now learning and has to use himself as a model. This is not a criticism, I've been through that exact phase.

It also tells me you may need to play with whitebalance a bit because this is very yellow from the light source.

I like your use of DoF.

I think there is too much space at the top of the frame and your chin feels too close to the bottom of the frame.

Some like the whole "floating head" thing, but I like a portrait to stand out from the background, not blend into it. A back light would help with this..even if just another desk lamp or something.

Oh, by the way.. welcome to DPS. Don't worry, most are not as harsh as me!
