Is this "strong" and artistic enough?
Can I get a better result with the pop-up?

Hiya, Yummy,
Try diffusing the pop up flash on your camera.... Google told me about cutting up an old whitish film canister and slipping it over the flash while it was up. Helped me heaps - the light was about a million times softer. But overall I really like the image, and it is really strong!

I like it, only things I would do is make sure to stop down from 1.8 when you're shooting that close. Her right eye is OOF and blurred and is distracting to me. Also perhaps I would darken her skin just a bit but other than that I think it's a great picture
