My flash was on the wrong side for this one. What do you think about this lighting? Post-processing?

I like the post work you did on it, but, as you mentioned, the light is on the wrong side - camera right would have been much better.

I think the background could be a little better, but this looks like a candid, so I won't nit-pick too much. Haha.

What post processing did you do ?
First thing, is it's waaaay blown out. I'm sure she wouldn't be happy knowing her arm looks so pale. Yeah, just way too much flash from an unflattering angle.

Also, in general, as Nate said, it feels like a candid, not so much a portrait.

It's a strange angle in regards to not seeing the subjects face well. The background is both boring and distracting... I'd suggest using a larger aperture (small f-number)

I also seems you were using a central focus point on auto-focus since the focus isn't clearly on her face.

The version you posted (which I assume is a smaller of the original.. or a crop of a larger shot?) has a lot of noise in the background which I don't think was due solely to the iso400.

Faster shutter speed to keep the blurring out of her face while she's talking.

Honestly, this just doesn't do anything for me, feels like a basic snapshot that is overblown in the end. I think even you felt it wasn't great when you ask us to "rip it apart"...

I think BigFuzzy left out the fact you chopped her hand off too.

Other than that, I think he did a great job of ripping it apart as you requested.

Thanks, guys. I agree with everything you said. I'm not the biggest fan of this shot. Any suggestions for editing it?

It intrigues me. And no matter what I do, I am not satisfied with the end product, and I just can't leave that alone.
