Default Mid-Day Portrait

This was my submission for the contest, and I'd figure that I get some critique that isn't from my friends/family.

Light

I'd say anything goes, I'm relatively new but I've got a good grasp on the fundamentals, and some more complex things. I'd like to know not only what I could have done to improve it, but also what you like about it, what you think I did right. Thanks in advance!

Exposure 0.001 sec (1/1250)
Aperture f/4.0
Focal Length 18 mm

I would say the biggest thing is simplify. I have no idea what you're going for in this photo and so it's not interesting. The first thing I saw was the head, then the distracting necklaces....the cool background (seriously, I really like the background) and then a bit later I noticed the bubbles. I actually think if you were to take the exact same picture but have the bubbles be in focus and not the back of her head, it would be better. Or even removing the necklaces and bubbles would give it a different feel. There's just a lot going on visually that the only place I want to look is the back of her head because it's the boldest part.

I think you did a good, even job on the exposure.

After having those things pointed out to me I can see what you're talking about. Thanks so much for the feedback, and if I ever get around to redoing this idea/concept then I'll make sure to post it!
And as for the background, I love it so much. My friends and I were just walking around and we walked by there and were like "Why haven't we done shoots here?" So there will probably be more of this background to come.
