Default Playing with my car

Hello everyone. This is my first post on this section. I took this shot on one of the first days after I upgraded from point&shoot to DSRL. I thought it came out great, with a nice composition. Maybe it could have a more blurred backgroud, but children are very fast and I had no time to change settings, so it was in Auto Mode.

Playing with my car!

Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XS
Exposure: 0.04 sec (1/25)
Aperture: f/4.5
Focal Length: 34 mm
ISO Speed: 200
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: Off, Did not fire

Thank you in advance for the inputs.

I think you did really well here. I like the bright yellow of the car amongst the relatively neutral surrounding colours. Well done for getting the eyes nice and sharp!

Good capture. Maybe try a vertical crop, though? Not sure, but it might work better.

Thanks for the great tip. I've changed it to Portrait and it came out even greater because it cut off the less important "information" on the shot.
Here is the result.

Playing with my car! (Portrait)

ill_noize. What do you suggest about the orientation of the picture? I've made a change already as suggested by irishmuth.
Thanks

I think it looks much better now, but definitely if it were me, I'd take some of the brown off the bottom of the photo. That will make it more square, but it distracts me personally from him. His eyes and the car are great though and I think eliminating some of that extra blur at the bottom will really bring it out nicely.

Hello cowgrlsheart, I tried a square proportion to the picture now. What do you think, better?

Playing with my car!

Thank you,
