I love the look on her face. The lighting is lovely and soft, and providing a nice warm feel to the image. The eyes are nice and sharp which is always important in a portrait. I like the tight crop too.
Composition wise, I would perhaps have moved her slightly off center, to eliminate the dead some of the dead space on the right of the image. (I know it is not easy to think of things like composition when you are taking a shot in a hurry) The shot is a little under exposed - if it was mine, I would lighten it fractionally. |

Color is fantastic in your edit! Comp wise, it already looks better, I really like her off centre, but I cant help wondering what it would look like if image was cropped to exclude the dead grey area on the right and include the lovely golden light on the left? (sorry, I don't think I was clear in my previous post
)It is still a lovely portrait that I would be proud of. |

I much prefer the comp on this one!!
![]() It is quite difficult to re-compose as the original was quite a tight crop to start with. It may benefit from a fraction more space under her chin, but it's not a train smash without. If you don't mind me giving the comp a bash, I can try. I don't like to do it before I ask. |

No problem...go ahead. I believe it can be done, but I was trying to keep it at an 8 x 10 ratio which was causing problems for me when cropping.....
Let's see what you got!! |

Love the last one...Great job!
Photography is very much about personal opinion, and what works for some people doesn't work for others... that is the beauty of it. Here is my version just for interest sake!
