Default pensive

Hi, please tell me your opinion about this portrait of my son...
Do you think the angle is good? What about the light?
I would appreciate any comments!

EXIF:
Camera: Canon EOS 450D
Exposure: 0.3
Aperture: f/5.0
Focal Length: 41 mm
ISO Speed: 100

I converted to B&W, increased the contrast and shadows with Photoshop CS2.

Do you think the result is any good?

I like it, I think pensive is an appropriate description. I'm far from an expert, but I think the texture of the background, the rough towel, and his soft skin work really well together.

I like it as well - but I keep getting stuck on his nostrils....... Maybe because it is an area of high contrast? But I love the lighting and the serenity. Good stuff.

I like the overall look of the image. It is sharp in the right places.
Just be careful of blowing your highlights. I think the image would benefit if you cloned out the hot spot on the far left hand side.

I am sure this would look great in color too!

thanks a lot guys I really appreciate your comments!
@Ari I also had this thought about the nostrils but chose this angle because it was unusual for me.
@Kate here's the original image, do you think it benefited from the post processing or it lost?

I just love the original in colour! I would suggest cloning out the red object which is protruding on the left, and the white blotch above it.
One round of sharpening, and you will have a winner.

It's almost impossible to recover detail in blown hightlights, but if you wanted to you could use your burn tool at about 20%. You won't recover all of it, but it may help a little.
