Default By the fence...

Hi everyone. I took this shot of my son for my project 365 but I am really wanting to get some feedback on it. I'm learning little by little on the post processing and I'd love to hear anyone's suggestions for improvement, comments, and critiques Thanks in advance!

Camera: Nikon D50
Lens 18-55mm
Aperture: f5.6
Shutter speed: 1/80 sec
focal length 55mm
ISO 400
Flash did not fire

I do like the desaturated look. But, I do think a slightly closer crop to the left would really enhance it more.

I like the angle you have on the image. If you cropped the image to exclude some of the dead space to the left of your son, I think it would improve the composition.
The desaturated look works well. I think it would also work if it was desaturated, but only to the point just before you loose all the colour. (make sense? )

Makes perfect sense! Thanks for your input. I'm going to have fun playing around with this one some more
