Default Wedding Candid

This image was shot during the bridal prep of a recent wedding. Being a candid there was really no time to recompose the image to eliminate the background.

Is this background too distracting? The background is a set of sliding doors, leading onto a verandah.

Your thoughts on how to improve the shot would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Kate:
The background is not distracting to me at all. Baby is to cute to notice background This would also be beautiful if you switch it to BW.

Nice Shot.

I agree! My focus went straight to the baby! But sometimes a b/w can take away a little bit from a distracting background!

I agree, I like the background. I think it even adds a little bit, makes it look a bit more natural, as opposed to a plain white studio back ground. Plus, as everyone else has said, the baby is too cute to be looking at the background!

Thank you very much for the feedback, really appreciate your time.
My eye still goes straight to the background, but I suppose it is because it is something that bothers me.

Here is a desaturated version, does it work. I have also altered the contrast a little.

Thanks again

No!
Give me back the original, colour version. MUCH more natural IMO.

Here eyes were much better in color. I would say this is a keeper for color, even though I am a black and white fanatic, because it doesn't do anything for her to change this to b&w. It's better the original way. Beautiful photo!

Love the color version...and as most others have said, I look directly at the baby's eyes and not so much the background.
