Default A Family Photoshoot

I hope to get some more on here from this series.

I have a brighter version of this picture. I did a lot of editing... but here is the data anyways:
Aperture: f/8.0
Exposure: 1/60 sec.
Focal Lenghth: 18.0mm
Flash fired (bounce flash) (also some side window light and a "beauty light")
ISO: 400

Part of post processing I used David Ziser's "Light of God" technique. I still have to learn how to do it better.

Thanks for your thoughts

Do you have the SOOC? I find this to be too dark on their faces and also a little red.

It's a great attempt, but the background is so dark that the woman's hair basically disappears. Maybe try a lighter background, or more light in general.

The straight off of camera version - i.e. no editing done at all. What did you use for a backdrop here?

I used a black sheet held up by some "studio compression rods" (found on the DIY Photography website). Here is the SOOC version. I still have to learn how to do the whole bounce flash thing and also control my light.

Doing these portraits is part of a year long project (or challenge) for myself, taking pictures of other people. Learning about lighting, posing, compositon (if I get to do any street photography). So all comments and thoughts are very helpful! Thanks. I will post more from this serise later.
