I think it tells a good story, I like the angle and title, and it made me smile. Is this part of a series, or a stand alone photo?
I do wish his feet weren't cut off though. And I'm honestly not sure about the selective coloring. Do you have one in all color that we could see for comparison? Can you re-shoot? If so, how about placing the ironing board at more of an angle? Doing so could make a tighter, portrait crop possible. That might strike a good balance between getting enough of the clutter/toys in the frame (which to me is a positive in this photo) and being able to see the details more easily. My two cents.

yes the picture is part of a series Life Through A Lens | By Ashley Stuart Jones | Category: Portfolios | Blurb i have added the full colour original picture which i thought may have been too busy on the eye the above link shows the selective colours better as well.
i wish i had the feet on too i could re-shoot however i have cleaned up and the book case is no longer in the room so i would take a long time to get it just right. thanx
