Red face Bubbles!

I recently went and took these photos at a relatives 1st birthday party. Is this photo too processed? I think the post processing added a lot to it but... you guys are the experts

Exposure: 0.003 sec (1/320)
Aperture: f/6.3
Focal Length: 55 mm

I love curve adjustment vintage treatments, and in this case i think it works well. the pink is a bit too garish, and if you print it will probably look weird.

Composition, i would have placed her closer tot he right of the frame if you have the ability to re-crop it, if not, not a big deal.

Be prepared for someone to say they wish they could see her feet. it does kind of unbalance the image, and thatd the only reaosn i would care. if you could recompose as i mentioned above, it would matter less to me.

Saturating an image does add a lot of character to an image. But when you do, you have to make sure you do not alter the overall color balance of the image. To me it looks like the color balance changed to a bit more yellow. Warm tones are also very cool, try though not to over do it.

Also google the rule of thirds. By following this rule of how to frame your images, it makes the image more pleasant to look at and assists in drawing the viewers attention to the object in the photo.

And, oh my god, you did cut off her legs ;-)

Try different framing as well, I would have also tried to shoot this as a vertical image.

Then you could choose which image looked the best.

Thanks

Joe

I totally agree with the feet thing, I didn't have much time. She moved quick! Can't fix the feet thing but may try around with a few different crops. Thanks!

I think it is a beautiful shot, well captured. It is very challenging to capture children at play and your photograph is well framed with the bubbles. I wouldn't worry about the leg crop, it isn't in an awkward spot. I think the processing looks beautiful, but my opinion is that too much editing puts an image in danger of looking outdated and strange down the road. But I like it, well done!
