Default Pure and curly

I like this portrait that I took, but something is missing in terms of the mood, i think.
Do you think it is dramatic enough? Was is a good idea to convert it to B&W?
Also, does it seems like a good composition?

Thanks!

Excellent job. I love the soft focus on it. The only suggestion I would make would be to try and remove the vertical seam that's just to the right of the face, it is a little distracting. Yes it was a good idea to go black and white it gives it a good mood. Very good image.

Thanks a lot. Until you point a seam to me - I didn't see it.
Surely see it now!

No, no - not sarcastic at all. Just the opposite - happy to see what can be fixed!
Actually - do you have any recommendations on what is the best way to fix it? I am using Aperture. I tried to blur it, but it looked odd.
Thanks again.

Ok good. I'v never used Aperture so I'm not sure what it's capabilities are. Where the seam shows through the hair will be difficult no matter what program your using. Instead of removing it entirely, maybe try to do a selecion of the right side of the image and blur just a bit so that it's not as strong. Also, you could try doing a vertical selection just to the right of the seam, then copy/paste it back in, and flip it horizontally, and then move it over the seam. If you can add it as a "layer" and use a "layer mask" then you could feather out the edges. If you're good with the "clone" tool you could attempt that.

Anyone good with Aperture that could give some adivce?
