Default Please rate compositon and lighting

Hi All

First off, long time reader...first time poster

Can you please give me feedback on the lighting and composition of this shot of my G/F.

I'm not too sure if the lighting from behind looks good or not. Also I think the whole compostion just looks off but i cant tell why... any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

I no longer have the EXIF data (sorry) also I have applied a fake "cross processed" look in Photoshop

Thanks in advance

Jack

Shooting in direct sunshine is usually an invitation to disaster. It is just too bright, too hard and too hot. However with the subject wearing sunglasses you just may be able to get away with it.

Composition. In portraiture things that are level, straight and flat are usually buildings, not people. People should be leaning, tilting, not level, not straight and always follow the rule "if it bends, bend it,"

I feel like the first thing i see in the picture is her bikini top, not her face. The color in the rest of the photo feels a little flat too, which makes the dark bikini top pop.

Great job on sharpness, although I have to agree that the viewers eyes are drawn to the bikini top. I think if you had a wider angle on this shot it could work a lot better. Thanks for sharing
